After Vancouver Canucks defenseman Derek Forbort left yesterday's practice early favoring his leg, the Canucks have provided an unfortunate update on his injury.

The Vancouver Canucks singed veteran stay at home d-man Derek Forbort during the offseason essentially as an exact replacement of Ian Cole. It was still regarded as an upgrade as Forbort is a much bigger, younger and ultimately cheaper version if Cole.

After his first 3 games with the Canucks this season, it was announced that he would be having to take a sudden leave of absence after his father Keith sadly passed away.

Now, just 2 games back from his much anticipated return, it seems could be out for sometime.

Derek Forbort Out with A Lower Body Injury

Forbort left practice yesterday early after being shaken up from battling in live drills.
There have been no exact updates on what his injury is, the extent, nor the timetable for his return, but initially it was said to not be serious, but, he was not seen at practice today ahead of their matchup with the Anaheim Ducks.

So far on the season, Forbort has only produced one point, a -2 rating and five blocked shots. Additionally, he is averaging 16:30 of ice time in his four games with his new club.
