MAJOR | Junior A player receives a thirty-one-game suspension following wild scrum in Vancouver
A defenceman for the Richmond Sockeye has been saddled with a 31-game suspension following an incident in late January against the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.
In video that was circulated on local broadcasts Sockeyes defenceman Eithan Grishkin appears to put North Vancouver goaltender Evan Paul into a chokehold.
The goaltender drops to the ice and as the referee deals with Grishkin, Paul remains lying on the ice.
Sources say Grishkin appealed the suspension, but the commissioner upheld it. Before this massive suspension, Grishkin has already received 3 games and 13-game suspensions this season.
