It's not uncommon for aging players to look for brighter opportunities overseas once their time is done in the NHL. A 14-years NHL veteran is about to pull the plug and head to the KHL.

Anton Khudobin, who had been with the Chicago Blackhawks for the last little while, is now engaged in talks with Lada of the KHL. His agent, Alexander Chernykh, commented the subject:

''When Anton decided to play in the KHL, goalkeepers were signed in almost all teams. Now we will negotiate with Lada. We agreed with the sports director of the club Rafik Yakubov to return to this issue next week."

Kudhobin splitted his time in North America between 6 NHL franchises (Boston, Minnessota, Carolina, Anaheim, Dallas and Chicago). He'll mainly be remembered as the netminder who came up from nowhere to lead the Stars to a Stanley Cup Final.

He took part in 260 NHL regular season games managing a 114-92-33 record. The journeyman was involved in the trade that sent Max Domi from the Blackhawks to the Stars.
