LATEST | Bad news for Oliver Ekman-Larsson which could be positive for the Canucks
The Canucks are currently hosting the New York Rangers and while they've fallen behind 4-2 with Chris Kreider's goal early in the 2nd period, the team released crucial information on a player's health.
The Canucks will have to end this game with only 5 bodies on defense since Oliver Ekman-Larsson suffered an injury in the 1st Period and he will not be coming back in the game.
'' Defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson sustained a lower-body injury and will not return to tonight's game.''
This is a piece of bad news for the already struggling Canucks defensive line-up, though it could represent a golden opportunity for Allvin and his team. If Ekman-Larsson's injury were to be ''serious'' and if he were to be out long-term, they could move him to LTIR and it would then allow the team to monetize that cap space heading into this year's deadline.
Let's hope OEL isn't injured too badly, though it'd be a great opportunity for the Canucks to cash out. Especially since cap space is extremely rare these days.
