Patrik Allvin will face many tough calls in the next few days regarding his upcoming contracts ending. The Canucks have only 5 NHLers' contracts ending on July 1st; three restricted free agents still need to be qualified, and two are unrestricted on July 1st.

The latest report suggests that Canucks have chosen to offer Kyle Burroughs a contract extension. Per Rick Dhaliwal, they've reached today after going radio silent since the season ended:

«Canucks have reached out to [Kyle Burroughs] and made a contract offer to the Langley native.»

Coming off a 2-year and $1.5M deal, the Langley native collected 10 points through 90 games with the Canucks over the span of his contract. The numbers he's put up on the stat sheet aren't the reason why the Canucks are looking to bring him back, however. Despite being a smaller-format defenseman, he's proven to be quite effective and a real 'go-getter', a player who isn't afraid to go up against the biggest of them all. He leaves it all on the ice whenever is out there.

He was most likely offered a short-term deal to near league entry. He's definitely proven to be an effective depth piece over his time with the Canucks. Are you glad the Canucks are trying to retain his services?
