An unnamed National Hockey League player has suggested to Larry Brooks of the New York Post that a rumour of a three-team trade of sorts involving the Maple Leafs, Penguins and Rangers is gaining traction.

"I would acknowledge that would appear to be in the Buster Douglas-Mike Tyson realm of possibility, but at the same time I should tell you that I received an unsolicited text from a player late Thursday who said the rumor 'was getting pretty loud.'" Brooks said.

This rumoured moves that Brooks and the player are referring to is a bit of an odd one and something you certainly don't see every day, because it involves coaches and management staff.

It's unclear how it would be structured or even if it would be a trade, but the Pittsburgh Penguins would get Kyle Dubas and Sheldon Keefe from the Toronto Maple Leafs, while Mike Sullivan would leave the Penguins and become the next head coach of the New York Rangers.

"So I will pass along this scenario that was just presented to me.

Dubas leaves Toronto to become Pittsburgh GM, brings Keefe with him, as such fires Mike Sullivan, who in turn becomes free (assuming permission) to become NYR HC." Brooks said in a tweet.

Of course, all of this is just rumours at the moment and the idea of Mike Sullivan becoming the Rangers' next head coach is hard to see right now for numerous reasons including that the Penguins would likely want to keep him.
