Lucic, 34, is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st after spending the last four seasons as a member of the Calgary Flames. In 1,173 games with Boston, Los Angeles, Edmonton and Calgary, Lucic has 584 points (233 goals, 351 assists) and 1,299 penalty minutes.
Over the weekend, Lucic won gold with Canada at the 2023 IIHF World Hockey Championship, finishing the tournament with four points (two goals, two assists) and four penalty minutes in ten games. It was Lucic's first time ever representing his country.
Signing Lucic likely wouldn't cost too much and adding a physical player like him would make the Canucks tough to play against. It would also bring some added protection for players like Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes because other teams won't push them around knowing Milan Lucic will come after them.
