A line brawl occurred a couple of weeks back in the SJHL when the Laronge IceWolves played the Estevan Bruins.

Though only earlier this week did the league speak up about the events and distributed their suspensions, things escalated after a whistle and got out of hands, the referees and linesmen event got involved:

"On Jan. 23, it was announced the SJHL Department of Player Safety and Standard of Play had suspended La Ronge's Ethan Strik for four games for his actions during the Jan. 21 game versus the Estevan Bruins. He received two games for a gross misconduct, one game for third man in the first fight and one game for the second fight during the same stoppage."

"It was also announced on Jan. 27 that Hockey Canada, Hockey Saskatchewan and the SJHL has suspended Kaycee Coyle of the La Ronge Ice Wolves for 20 games for maltreatment stemming from the Jan. 20 game versus the Bruins."

Good on the team La Ronge Ice Wolves, they stood behind their player the whole way and appealed the league's decision. No suspension we're awarded to the Estevan Bruin on this particular sequence.

On our end, we've seen crazier brawls than this one this year. Though the video doesn't show us everything that happened in that brawl, we feel there were a lot of suspensions only on one side.
