The National Hockey League is set to host yet another All-Star game in Florida on the upcoming weekend. While these events are mainly for the fans, some players definitely take pride in taking part in these events.

A weekend of this sort always needs planning and in that line of thought an insider revealed that Toronto was sealing the deal to host the 2024 All-Star Week-End. It'll be the first time since 2012 that a Canadian team presents the event, back in 2012, Ottawa did the honors.

The event will make its way back to Toronto for the first time since 2000:

"According to a source from Star contributing columnist Nick Kypreos, the Maple Leafs are closing in on hosting the annual event at Scotiabank Arena for the first time since 2000.

When the NHL's premier event landed in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre, Leafs' captain Mats Sundin and defenceman Dmitry Yushkevich represented Team World while goalie Curtis Joseph played against them on Team North America.

NHL greats like Martin Brodeur, Ray Bourque, Paul Kariya, Mark Messier, Mike Modano, Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, Nicklas Lidstrom, Jaromr Jágr, Pavel Bure and current Leafs' president Brendan Shanahan took the ice in Toronto. "

Canadians market are known to be hardcore Hockey fans and the NHL is sending a little recognition their way. Perhaps Vancouver could think about hosting the event in future years, if they did, would you be in attendance?
