Elliotte Friedman's longtime partner, Jeff Marek let go by Sportsnet
There's been a significant update regarding Sportsnet's Jeff Marek's disappearance. It has been revealed today that the network has reportedly let him go.
A spokesperson from Sportsnet broke the news to a member of the Daily Hive, confirming that Jeff Marek is no longer with the network.
For about a month, fans had been speculating about Marek's whereabouts, as he had not been heard from or posted anything on social media. The abrupt silence led fans to immediately call out Sportsnet on X (formerly Twitter), expressing their disappointment, as many enjoyed his podcast and radio show. This is considered a significant loss for the sports community.
Details are scarce, but multiple sources tell me that for unconfirmed draft reasons, @JeffMarek will likely no longer perform duties at Sportnet hockey. Details to follow. This would include his podcast duties, too.
Marek's absence began after the NHL Entry Draft in June. Since then, he hasn't hosted any shows, with one episode being entirely cancelled. The news of his possible firing has left many fans heartbroken.
