Sportsnet announces Elliotte Friedman's new co-host for 32 Thoughts podcast

Sportsnet has announced Elliotte Friedman's new co-host for the 32 Thoughts podcast, with an all-new episode coming on Friday.

With the 2024-25 NHL season right around the corner, the 32 Thoughts podcast will return on Friday and there will be a familiar face to hockey fans as Elliotte Friedman's new co-host.

In a social media post on Thursday, the Sportsnet Public Relations account announced that Kyle Bukauskas will join the podcast as Elliotte Friedman's new co-host, replacing Jeff Marek.

"🚨 Introducing the new co-host of 32 Thoughts, Kyle Bukauskas!

An all new episode drops tomorrow morning, as @FriedgeHNIC & @sportsnetkyle dive into the latest news from around the hockey world. 🏒🔊" Sportsnet said.

Bukauskas was asked about joining the podcast in an interview with Sportsnet on Thursday and shared that he's excited for the opportunity and has never done anything podcast-related before, so it'll be a new experience for him.

"Well yeah, it's going to be a fascinating experience, because I think I'm one of the last people in the media world to not have done anything podcast-related. Yes, I took my sweet time getting to this point. But yes, it's going to be a change of mindset for sure. You're so used to go on television on Saturdays, you've got, at max, maybe a minute to try to hit on a couple of different points and so you're trying to be as concise as possible. And to now switch to more of a longer-form format, I just hope I have enough to say [laughs]." Bukauskas said.

Bukauskas will have big shoes to fill as the co-host of the 32 Thoughts podcast as he replaces Jeff Marek, who allegedly sharing draft information to former NHL scout Mark Seidel. Marek allegedly gave Seidel a heads up about who was going to be selected so the former could prepare analysis on social media.

The first episode of the Bukauskas-Friedman era of the 32 Thoughts podcast is set to be released at some point on Friday.
