TRADE REPORTS | Insider drops a bombshell Erik Karlsson: Three teams and a blockbuster deal in the works
It was reported that Erik Karlsson had asked for a trade out of San Jose and he later confirmed that he had spoke with four teams about a potential trade. The latest Norris trophy winner owns a full no-movement clause on his contract, making him the sole controller of his next destination.
Elliotte Friedman dropped a bombshell regarding an incoming trade this morning:
'There is a legit attempt to get an Erik Karlsson trade done today. Would involve Pittsburgh, San Jose and at least one other team to facilitate the cap gyrations. We will see how it plays outbut everyone grinding in that direction.''
The Pens will first have to find a way to make room for Kalrsson's hefty cap hit. As stated before, they'll most likely be using buy outs and Jeff Petry or Mikael Granlund are the candidates. Unless that 3rd team picks one of them up.
Kyle Dubas is looking to make a massive splash in his debut in Pittsburgh and he may be very close to pulling a trade for the Norris Trophy winner.
