MAJOR | Blockbuster deal announcement coming? Erik Karlsson's fate may have been decided
Erik Karlsson's name has been buzzing ever since the latest Norris Trophy winner has formerly asked for a trade out of San Jose.
Not too long ago it appeared that Carolina and Pittsburgh were the most likely destination for the 100 points defenceman, now that the Hurricanes have added Tony DeAngelo, everything points toward Kyle Dubas pulling off a blockbuster deal.
The Pens' second window for a buy out is now opened and even though Dubas has stated that it's not his preffered move, Mikael Granlund may be the best candidate on their line-up. Eliotte Friedman dropped a bombshell on the subject prior to the weeken:
The Swede had a career best 101 points season at 33 years old and is looking for an opportunity to win a cup. The biggest issue in a Karlsson trade remains his hefty AAV. Karlsson commands a $11.5M AAV for 4 more years.
