LATEST | Oilers captain Connor McDavid has a big ask for his teammates
The Edmonton Oilers have a lot of pressure on them heading into the 2023-24 season. Last year, they made it past the Los Angeles Kings in the first round of the playoffs in six games, before falling to the eventual Stanley Cup champion Vegas Golden Knights in round two.
With last season in the rearview mirror, the Oilers are focused on making this coming campaign one to remember and captain
Connor McDavid has a big ask for his teammates.
In an interview with Sportsnet's Mark Spector, McDavid said that he's asked the entire roster to be in Edmonton for captain's skates starting on Tuesday, September 5th.
"A little bit more organized in our captain's skates. Just to make sure that it's a productive month and we can hit the ground running." McDavid said.
It's clear to see that McDavid has high expectations this coming season and wants the Edmonton Oilers to get off to a good start to the year, which would lead to a lengthy playoff run next spring. After making it to the Western Conference Final and second round in the last two seasons, the Oilers have one goal for this season - Stanley Cup Final.
