The Vancouver Canucks continue to evaluate their options on the trade market, it appears that they could be looking to move on from one of their blueliners.

On Friday, the Vancouver Canucks finally got the top-four defenseman they've been looking for as they acquired Marcus Pettersson from the Pittsburgh Penguins and now, the addition of Pettersson has made another blueliner expendable.

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Carson Soucy reportedly available for trade

With the addition of Marcus Pettersson and the play of rookie defenseman Elias Pettersson, the Vancouver Canucks are set on the left side, which could lead them to trading Carson Soucy.
On Tuesday, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that the Vancouver Canucks have made Carson Soucy available for trade ahead of the NHL's deadline in 31 days.
"Carson Soucy has been made available for a trade, per @FriedgeHNIC" Jason Brough said on X.
Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali echoed the same, that the play of Elias Pettersson and Patrik Allvin acquiring Marcus Pettersson has made it tough for Carson Soucy to get minutes.
"Carson Soucy has a full no trade clause this year, next year a 12 team no trade.

The arrival of Marcus Pettersson and the improved play of Elias Pettersson has made the left side tougher to crack for Soucy." Dhaliwal said.
Soucy, 30, was made a healthy scratch by Rick Tocchet for Sunday's game against the Detroit Red Wings and it's unclear if he'll be drawing back in tonight as they host Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche.
In 51 games this season, Soucy has eight points (two goals, six assists), 42 penalty minutes and is a minus-15.
The Viking, Alberta native has one year remaining on his contract following 2024-25 that comes with a cap hit of $3.25 million USD and as Dhaliwal mentions, his full no-trade clause changes to a 12-team no-trade list this summer.
