The trade deadline is less than one month away, set for Friday, March 8th, and it's going to be a busy few weeks as we lead up to that date.

There have been several names thrown out there on the trade market ahead of potential moves and one of those is Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen, who could use a change of scenery.

Ristolainen has three years remaining on his contract beyond the 2023-24 season with a cap hit of $5.1 million, which would make a trade pretty hard, even if the Flyers are willing to retain 50%. But now, it appears that Ristolainen will be remaining with the Flyers, at least until the summer.

According to Anthony DiMarco of The Fourth Period, Ristolainen is expected to be out with an injury for a minimum of one month and it's unlikely that the Flyers will trade him.

"Full story coming later, but multiple sources confirm that Rasmus Ristolainen's injury is significant and he will be out a minimum of one month.

A move ahead of the trade deadline seems unlikely, at this point.

#LetsGoFlyers" DiMarco said.

The 29-year-old has appeared in 31 games for Philadelphia this season where he's put up four points (one goal, three assists), eight penalty minutes and is a minus-six.

While the Vancouver Canucks likely couldn't have added Ristolainen due to cap related reasons, it's certainly a let down for several other teams around the league that were interested in his services.
