LATEST | NHL GM wildly disrespects Quinn Hughes' outstanding season
ESPN is releasing the results of their positional rankings, where 10 NHL players and 10 hockey operations employees were polled on their top 10 players at each position.
Quinn Hughes unsurprisingly landed the #2 spot, just behind Cale Makar, but despite his dominant season Hughes somehow hasn't answered enough questions for some doubters.
In fact, one NHL GM surveyed didn't even vote Quinn Hughes as a top 10 D league wide.
Last season, Hughes didn't appear in the top 10 among defensemen on any of our 20 ballots. This season, he received 146 points and appeared on 19 of 20 ballots -- although one NHL general manager left him off theirs ultimately,
Greg Wyshynski wrote.
With 65 points in 53 games and arguably the MVP for the NHL's top team, it's hard to imagine what more Hughes can do to earn the respect of those who doubt him. Perhaps if he adds his first Norris to this impressive season, he'll get a unanimous vote of confidence.
The owner of the team whose GM left Hughes out of the top 10 league-wide should most definitely question his ability to run an NHL Franchise.
