The Canucks right winger, Conor Garland, has requested a trade out of Vancouver. It will interesting to see how challenging this trade situation could become for general manager, Patrik Allvin.
The Canucks have a lot of depth on the wing but have yet to see positive results as most of their wingers faced hurtles last season. The Sekeres and Price show take a look at what options the Canucks have.
Matt Sekeres spoke about the issues regarding Canucks wingers.
Sekeres says "...a couple of prospects, Vasily Podkolzin, (and) Nils Hoglander took backwards steps in their development."
Both Podkolzin and Hoglander struggled last season. It is likely due to the fact that both player were stapled to the bottom-six, which is hard for most players develoment.
Sekeres continues "...The club has to consider weakening itself on the flanks...with Podkolzin in the minors and Hoglander still not trusted beyond fourth line duty..."
The Canucks will most likely bringing back a defenseman in a Garland trade. With Garland gone, it could be exactly the opportunity Podkolzin and/or Hoglander need to develop.
