LATEST | An announcement regarding Mark Friedman has been made
The Canucks brought in a veteran defenseman Mark Friedman as a depth role with the team. Friedman has been a solid AHL defenseman for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and a decent depth defenseman for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Friedman played in 23 NHL games, recording 3 points and a +2 in the 2022-2023 season. The Canucks brought him in to add depth to their injured defensive core.
Friedman will join the Canucks wearing the #51. Only three Canucks have worn the jersey. Derek Dorsett, Troy Stecher and last season, Sheldon Dries.
The Canucks hope that the defenseman can play some meaningful games this season as the team continues through the season.
