In recent weeks, Kuzmenko's name has popped up in trade rumours with the 27-year-old being linked to the Washington Capitals, while other teams have also inquired about his availability.
On 'The Jeff Marek Show' on Thursday, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek discussed Andrei Kuzmenko's situation in Vancouver and mentioned that the New York Islanders would make a lot of sense as a potential landing spot as his agent, Dan Milstein, has clients there.
Friedman also went on to mention that other teams are aware of Kuzmenko's situation in Vancouver and are willing to see what other teams will do about it, as in - send us your offer and we'll see what we think.
Kuzmenko, a native of Yakutsk, Russia, has taken quite a step back this season after recording 39 goals in his first year in the National Hockey League in 2022-23. In 29 games this season, he's put up 17 points (six goals, 11 assists), two penalty minutes and is a plus-two.
