Last season, the Vancouver Canucks made the tough decision to make Oliver Ekman-Larsson a healthy scratch for the first time since 2011, but could they consider doing the same with Tyler Myers?

With Carson Soucy returning from his injury, Mark Friedman being acquired from Pittsburgh, Noah Juulsen playing well and the potential of the Canucks bringing Ethan Bear back, it creates a bit of a logjam on the blue line. With Tyler Myers not having great start to the season, he could find his way out of the lineup eventually as Rick Tocchet tries to put his best players out there to get the win, night in, night out.

"OEL got the treatment last season (in Tampa IIRC). So it may get to that. But so thin at RHD, hard to imagine what line-up looks like. Also, needed 82 games to reach 1000 in #NHL to start the season. Just file that away" Jeff Paterson said.

Myers, 33, is set to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2024 and is currently in the final year of his contract. Myers' contract comes with a cap hit of $6 million but back in September, he had his $5 million bonus paid, so in actual money, he's only owed $1 million. This makes it easier for Patrik Allvin to potentially move Myers closer to the trade deadline which is set for Friday, March 8th.

Do you think the Canucks will trade Tyler Myers before the March 8th deadline or let him walk to free agency next summer? Have your say in the poll below.
