On Wednesday night, the Washington Capitals were playing the Ottawa Senators. Artem Zub was forced off the ice when he went down in the third with an injury.
The defender tried blocking Alexander Ovechkin's shot, but the puck ended up on the defender's head. Zub stayed down as the puck directly hit his ear. He needed help off the ice, leaving a blood show behind:
''Oof. Artem Zub takes an Ovechkin shot to the side of the head. Blood everywhere. Hope it's not going to be anything too serious.''
Zub left the game and didn't go back. He had registered a goal.
