The Vancouver Canucks will have a number of prospects to keep an eye on at the upcoming 2024 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship, which is set to get underway
in one week in Sweden.

Among those that were named to their respective nation's rosters were Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Elias Pettersson, who will represent Sweden on home ice.

On Monday night, according to CapFriendly, the Canucks officially loaned Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Elias Pettersson to the Swedish national junior team for the
tournament.

Lekkerimaki, 19, will be playing in his third World Junior tournament for Sweden. So far this season for Orebro HK of the Swedish Hockey League, Lekkerimaki has 16 points
(ten goals, six assists), eight penalty minutes and is a plus-three in 24 games.

Pettersson, 19, has spent the majority of the 2023-24 season in the second tier in Sweden, HockeyAllsvenskan, with Vasteras IK, where he's put up nine points (one goal, eight assists), six penalty minutes and is a minus-four in 17 games.

Lekkerimaki, Pettersson and 2023 first-round pick Tom Willander will kick off their World Junior schedule as Sweden takes on Latvia on Boxing Day. Canucks fans will be able to
watch the action all tournament long on TSN, with puck drop for Sweden's opening game set for 10:30 a.m. PT/1:30 p.m. ET.
