Ever since the Canucks' tumultuous number 9 signed his massive $56M extension, he's been under the loop and held accountable for everything that went wrong with the Canucks.

Once Tocchet took the team's reigns, Miller picked his game nicely and ended the year with 82 points in 81 games. The team's former special units coach, Jason King, was on Sekeres and Price earlier today and spoke about the interactions he had with the scoring forward:

"Millsy [J.T. Miller] was very creative...I really enjoyed coaching Millsy. He challenged you in a great way to come up with different concepts & different ideas."

As you can guess, it triggered quite a conversation on different media platforms, and a journalist covering the Canucks even called for Miller's leadership. A passionate player who's constantly learning to canalize his emotions, since Tocchet came in, he may be making his case to be the next bearer of the 'C':

''Leadership can come in different forms. No denying JTM is a passionate guy, even if there are times where he goes about it in a fiery & controversial manner.''

Miller has definitely had an impact on the team ever since he was brought in from Tampa Bay. He's also been the team leader since he joined, and the 181 points he cumulated over the last 2 seasons speak much about how he competes.

The team lost its captain when Bo Horvat was traded to the Islanders. Could Miller be his replacement?
