MAJOR | Star player has put in his trade request: Confirmed by the team's GM
Ever since the Capitals won the Stanley Cup back in 2018, things have gone side ways for them, especially after missing out on the spring dance last year.
They've now started a retool hoping that they could give it one last go with their aging superstar Alexander Ovechkin. Amongst the players that were with the team it appears that Evgeny Kuznetsov doesn't have fate in that group anymore since the team's GM Brian McClellan confirmed that the star centerman had asked out of Washington.
''Washington Capitals GM Brian MacLellan confirmed to Mike Vogel that forward Evgeny Kuznetsov requested a trade.''
Kuznetsov, 31, was the Caps' 26th overall selection in the 2010 NHL Amateur Draft. He cumulated 55 points in 81 games this year, his career best was in 2017-2018 when he had 83 points in 79 games before helping the team win the Stanley Cup.
