The Canucks have been active on the NCAA free agents market and drafted their fair share of prospects over the last two years in order to replenish their depth in that category.

While the bigger names like Jonathan Lekkerimaki or Tom Willander have generated lots of headlines, it's actually a 2022 4th round pick that gathered attention. Daimon Gardner received lots of praises for his play during the last year and it's definitely a blessing for the Canucks who could really use a few home runs in their depth chart.

The advance statistics showed a highly productive prospect, Gardner lined up with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL this year where his dominance went beyond his numbers on the scoresheet:

After collecting 42 points in 46 USHL outings, Gardner will be joining Clarkson University in the NCAA's top division.
