The Canucks have been lighting it up since the season started. The team's had one of the best start we've seen in ages and tonight was in San Jose was no exception.
Everybody's been taking notes of the Canucks' successes and the league's latest power rankings are showing for it. The Canucks are up one rank from last week as they occupy the 8th seed:
There is a lot to like about the Canucks, who are playing a hard-nosed style of hockey under coach Rick Tocchet. Vancouver is getting balanced scoring, has an elite defenseman in captain Quinn Hughes and getting exceptional play from goalie Thatcher Demko. It's early, but the Canucks may be for real and could contend for a playoff spot, which was unexpected going into the season
After tonight's blowout, the Canucks now show a 8-2 record and there aren't showing any signs of slowing down.
