It's been just over a week since the Canucks gave Conor Garland his agent permission to speak with other teams about a potential trade and it appears that things are heading in the right direction fairly quickly.

Over the last week, several teams have expressed their interest in the 27-year-old forward, including Nashville, Washington, Columbus, Winnipeg, Chicago and Carolina.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, there is some movement on the Conor Garland front and it's possible that a third team may get involved for salary cap reasons.

"There seems to be some movement on the Conor Garland front; hearing a 3rd team could be in play. Talks w/ teams like #Preds #AllCaps #CBJ & at least 1 more Eastern team are ongoing. The #Canucks want this done sooner than later, but $$ is a big factor. How creative can they get?" Pagnotta said.

Garland, a native of Scituate, Massachusetts, has two more years remaining on his contract following the 2023-24 season with a cap hit of $4.95 million. The Canucks have already indicated to teams that they're willing to retain a portion of his salary, which should accelerate things in the coming days and weeks.

So far this season, Garland has only one goal and two penalty minutes in three games while playing on the team's top line with Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko.
