The Vancouver Canucks are set to play their first game of 2024 on Tuesday night as they host the Ottawa Senators at Rogers Arena for an all-Canadian battle.

On Tuesday morning, the Canucks took to the ice at Rogers Arena in preparation for tonight's game and afterwards, head coach Rick Tocchet gave an update on his lineup for tonight's game.

Tocchet announced that Thatcher Demko will get the start between the pipes and that defenceman Carson Soucy will not play against the Senators. He also added that a decision as to which forward will be a healthy scratch will be made closer to puck drop.

"Rick Tocchet confirms Thatcher Demko will start. Carson Soucy will not play. The decision of which forward will sit will be a game time decision. #Canucks @Sportsnet650"

This will be the second and final time during the 2023-24 season that the Vancouver Canucks will face the Ottawa Senators. Back in November, the Canucks took the game by a score of 5-2.

Puck drop for tonight's game is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET and can be viewed in the Vancouver region on Sportsnet Pacific.
