LATEST | Rick Tocchet updates on Teddy Blueger: Finally some good news?
The fans have not seen one of the Canucks' latest acquisitions, Teddy Blueger, due to an injury. Blueger went down when he blocked a shot during one of the team's pre-season games and hasn't seen action since.
TOCCHET GIVES AN INJURY UPDATE: BLUEGER BACK SOON?
The team's pilot met with the media today and gave an update on the
'Teddy had another scan, and it (his recovery) is on schedule. He's looking perfect here, and I think he will start to skate here very soon. I don't know whether it's tomorrow, but it will be soon."
It seems that the Canucks are taking the long road to recovery since he admitted that if the Canucks were in their first few games and the season were at stake, he'd be skating:
'' If this were the playoffs, I'm sure he could play after a few skates, but we're not going to do that. There are some protocols we have for guys that skate. He's working out hard (off the ice), but obviously, it's on the ice. It's a lot different than in the gym."
The team has done pretty well on the penalty kill, but Blueger would surely help the section in that department. Things will get interesting when Tocchet decides who he moves out of the line-up to put Blueger in.
