LATEST | Tocchet stresses need for team to work hard vs Chicago
The Vancouver Canucks are set to take on 2023 first-overall pick Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon.
It'll be the first time that Bedard, a North Vancouver native, takes on his hometown team, so it's going to be a special moment for him and his family. But the Canucks need to come out with a strong start and do better than they did yesterday, along with finding a way to shut down Bedard.
After losing Saturday in a shootout to the Minnesota Wild, Rick Tocchet said his team better be ready to work hard and match the hard work the Blackhawks put in each night.
"They're going to be hard-working team and we better match their hard work."
Tocchet also said that the team needs to be better on the forecheck and on the powerplay after going 0-5 on five opportunities on Saturday.
Puck drop for this afternoon's game is set for 12 p.m. PT/3 p.m. ET and can be viewed across Canada on Sportsnet.
