LATEST | Tyler Toffoli shares how he found out about his trade to Vancouver from LA
Tyler Toffoli's stay with the Vancouver Canucks was very short, only 17 games to be exact, but he definitely did his best during his time in the city, putting up 14 points.
On a podcast called "Empty Netters", Toffoli described how he found out about his trade to Vancouver from the Los Angeles Kings.
Toffoli said that he was out for a team dinner in Winnipeg when he got a call from Kings general manager Rob Blake and as soon as he saw Blake's name pop up on his phone, he turned to defenceman Alec Martinez.
"I look at Marty and go, 'Well...I'm fucking gone.'"
The 31-year-old would leave the Canukcs following the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, signing a four-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens. Toffoli would only spend parts of two teams with the Canadiens before being traded to Calgary.
In the Fall, Toffoli will suit up for his fifth National Hockey League franchise as he was traded to the New Jersey Devils by the Flames in late-June.
