Brock Boeser is currently the longest tenured member of the Vancouver Canucks, and while he may like to extend that stay, he's more than ready to take his talents elsewhere as a UFA.
Boeser's name has
been in trade rumours for quite a while, his goal scoring prowess making him an attractive option for contenders and his pending UFA status potentially making him an easy piece to move for Vancouver.
Brock Boeser wants to remain a Vancouver Canuck
If he had it his way, Brock Boeser would resign long term with the Canucks and end his NHL career where it started.
If that doesn't happen however, he's ready to hit the open market this summer.
Obviously, I'd love to re-sign but if that's not the case, go to UFA and I'll be just fine. That's made me less stressed - Brock Boeser
As a former 40 goal scorer and set to be among the youngest UFAs available - Boeser turns 28 tomorrow - there will be plenty of interest and he knows he'll find a deal.
If Patrik Allvin isn't going to extend Boeser, he may have no choice but to trade him before the March 7 trade deadline.
Insider says term is the hang up with Brock Boeser
He says however, it could still get done.
I know there's a lot of Boeser talk right now, and I do think term is a big issue there, the one thing I always remember about the Canucks is - J.T Miller, his contract extension came out of nowhere... I do think there's a legitimate term issue here, but Vancouver's history is Rutherford can wake up one day and say 'okay we're getting this done'.
