Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin is expected to be quite busy over the coming weeks as attempts to lock up some of the team's key unrestricted free agents including Nikita Zadorov, Dakota Joshua and Tyler Myers, among others.
But Allvin will also have his eyes on the trade market. In an ideal world, the Canucks would like to add a top-six forward, whether that be through trade, with someone like Martin Necas being an option, or in free agency with names like Sam Reinhart and Steven Stamkos potentially hitting the open market on July 1st.
If the Canucks decide to go down the trade route, they'll have to consider what they have to offer and while on Sportsnet radio, Satiar Shah mentioned that he believes Nils Hoglander's value on the market won't be higher than it is today and it could be the right time to move him.
Hoglander, 23, appeared in 80 games during the regular season for the Canucks, setting new career highs in goals and points. The Bocktrask, Sweden native had 36 points (24 goals, 12 assists), 51 penalty minutes and was a plus-23 during the regular season, but went on to have a relatively quite playoffs. In 11 Stanley Cup Playoff games, he only had two points (one goal, one assist).
