J.T Miller Breaks Silence to Canucks Media for the First Time Since Leave of Absence
Vancouver Canucks superstar J.T Miller returns to game action Thursday night against the Florida Panthers, and today he addressed media for the first time since taking his leave of absence from the team.
While many are curious about what led to Miller being absent from the team for nearly a month, he says he won't be shedding any further light on the situation.
I'm playing tonight, and I really would appreciate if we just stayed away from the reasons why I wasn't here... you can ask all you want but I'm not going to dive into the reasons why I wasn't here the last 3, 4 weeks. I'm here with the team, and I'm ready to look forward to what's happening in the future.
While the scrum was cordial, his media availability did include some short answers and a flat out refusal to answer one question.
Miller said when asked how he's doing now that he's "excited to play" and says it's been impressive to see how the team stepped up in his absence and the absence of key players like Thatcher Demko and Filip Hronek.
He says he'll try to keep it simple in his return, playing physical and making smart plays
A tough test at home for J.T Miller's return
Miller isn't being handed an easy task in his return, as the Canucks are lining up against the defending champions in the Florida Panthers.
The Panthers are on a 3 game winning streak and sit in 3rd place in the Eastern Conference, second in points percentage.
Aatu Räty comes out of the lineup for J.T Miller.
