With the Canucks set to take on the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday as they continue their nine-game home stand, Patrik Allvin made the decision to bring up someone with NHL experience and who had an MVP performance for his country at the 2023 IIHF World Hockey Championship - Arturs Silovs.
Silovs, 22, has appeared in 33 games this season for the Abbotsford Canucks where he's put up a record of 15-11-6 with a 2.74 goals against average, a .907 save percentage and four shutouts.
Canucks goaltender Casey DeSmith will get the majority of the starts between the pipes between now and when Thatcher Demko is healthy, but there's a good chance Arturs Silovs will get into at least a couple of games. Last year, Silovs appeared in five games for the Canucks, winning three and losing two, so even though he has minimal experience at the NHL level, it's still a positive for the Canucks that they can confidently turn to him, if needed.
How many games do you think Silovs will appear in over the remainder of the team's home stand? Let us know what you think in the poll below.
