The latest edition of the Vancouver Canucks' prospect rankings have been released by Canucks Army's Dave Hall, with Victor Mancini making his debut on the list.
Vancouver's prospect pool might not be the deepest in the National Hockey League by any means, but they do have a several players who will make an impact with the Canucks at some point in the future, including Swedish forward Jonathan Lekkerimaki, who could be a star for this organization.
Vancouver Canucks top-20 prospect rankings released
On Saturday morning, Dave Hall of Canucks Army released his full top-20 prospect rankings for the Vancouver Canucks and as expected, 2022 first-round pick Jonathan Lekkerimaki has landed at the number 1 spot.
Lekkerimaki has enjoyed plenty of success in his first full season here in North America, registering 27 points (19 goals, eight assists) in 31 games for the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks, while also appearing in 11 games in the NHL with Vancouver.
The Tullinge, Sweden native should be up in the NHL right now with Vancouver, and we could see him after the trade deadline depending on what moves Patrik Allvin makes, but in the fall, he'll be pushing for a full-time spot with the Canucks.
Let's take a look at the mid-season prospect rankings for the Vancouver Canucks, with their current team in parentheses:
The entire top six on Hall's prospect rankings have a very good chance at becoming full-time players in the National Hockey League in the years to come, but keep an eye on Riley Pattersson of the OHL's Barrie Colts.
Pattersson plays in all situations for the Central Division leading Barrie Colts, top-six, power play, penalty kill and while he'll likely be back in the OHL next season, it wouldn't be much of a shock if he gets a long look at training camp in September.
With the trade deadline next Friday, it's going to be interesting to see if Patrik Allvin is able to add any new names to the Vancouver Canucks' prospect pool, potentially in a deal involving Brock Boeser or Carson Soucy.
