The Vancouver Canucks' success is due to several members of the organization both on and off the ice, but in his first season as the team's captain, Quinn Hughes has taken yet another big step forward.

In a post on social media, the National Hockey League praised Hughes for entering some elite company as he joins Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey and Bobby Orr as the only defencemen in history with three-straight seasons of 60 or more assists.

"Welcome to an elite club, Quinn Hughes. 👏"

So far this season, Hughes has appeared in 64 games for the Canucks this season where he's put up 73 points (12 goals, 61 assists), 28 penalty minutes and is a plus-33.

Given his play this season, there's no doubt that Hughes will be one of the three finalists for the Norris Trophy as the National Hockey League's best defenceman during the 2023-24 season. He'll likely be joined by Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche, while the other nomination could go to a handful of others including New York Islanders' Noah Dobson.

Hughes will look to tally more points on Thursday night as the Canucks are set to take on the Golden Knights in Vegas. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet Pacific.
