Rick Tocchet is only focused on one award, and that's the Stanley Cup.

The head coach of the Vancouver Canucks is the current runaway front runner for the Jack Adams award, ahead of Paul Maurice and Rick Bowness, but he says the trophy is not something he puts any thought into.

Today, the team's head coach was asked to comment on the recent article released by NHL.com which suggested that he was the front runner for the Jack Adams. Trophy given to the NHL's top head coach:

'Awards mean nothing to me right now, and the same for players. If you play well, you'll get gratification after the season. It's no different for me. I'm not chasing anything.''

For the 2nd year bench boss of Vancouver, it's just noise, and the only thing that matters is staying competitive down the stretch and into playoffs - and Tocchet says his players are on the same page.

If they're successful in that, Tocchet will likely walk away from the season with his first Jack Adams. Tocchet has brought the Canucks to a whole new level, and the team's results are a clear representation of it.
