It's been nearly two years since Cole McWard
made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks in a game against the
Chicago Blackhawks and since then, the blueliner has spent the majority of his time developing in the American Hockey League.
With a little over a month to go in the AHL regular season before the Calder Cup Playoffs begin, Cole McWard has decided now is the time to announce some life-changing news.
Vancouver Canucks prospect Cole McWard announces engagement
In a post on social media on Friday afternoon, the
Abbotsford Canucks shared that Cole McWard is his now fiancé, Giuliana, are engaged.
"More Wedding Bells 💍
Congratulations to Cole McWard and his fiancé, Giuliana, on their engagement!" the Abbotsford Canucks said.
The couple took to Instagram to share the news as well, with McWard's fiancé posting the following:
McWard, 23, is putting together a nice season down in the American Hockey League with Abbotsford, registering 22 points (five goals, 17 assists), 12 penalty minutes and was a plus-five.
Due to the acquisitions of Victor Mancini and
Marcus Pettersson a month before the National Hockey League's trade deadline, along with the play of rookie defenseman
Elias Pettersson, there unfortunately hasn't been any room on the Canucks' roster for McWard this season.
The Fenton, Missouri native is set to become a restricted free agent on July 1st and is arbitration eligible, so it's going to be interesting to see what his next contract with the Vancouver Canucks looks like.
From everyone here at Canucks Daily, we'd like to congratulate Cole McWard and his fiancé Giuliana on their engagement.
