Magical Scene as Rogers Arena lights up with the player's entry
It was the Canucks' first playoff game in Vancouver since 2015, and everybody was ecstatic. The building had tons of energy, from the thousands of fans to the players.
The player's entrance to the rink replaced what could go down as one of the most iconic moments in the franchise's history. The ambiance was electric from when the players appeared, and nobody could believe it. Thatcher Demko led his teammates to the ice with an iconic tune in the background:
ROGERS ARENA IS ROCKING!
WHERE THE STREETS HAVE NO NAME RETURNS!
Miller said he almost got emotional when he stepped onto the ice and heard the crowd. Told after the birth of his kids and wedding, it was one of the most extraordinary things he's been a part of.
Myers also said he had to take a moment to take it all in. #Canucks
The players acknowledge how impressive it was to see the fan's support. From the moment the puck dropped to the moment the Canucks' scored two goals in 12 seconds, to the game's very end. Everybody stayed involved, and the team went on to win with the help of their 7th player.
The Canucks now have a 1-0 lead in this best of seven; they'll renew with action on Tuesday at the Rogers Arena before they head to Nashville for games #3 and #4.
