With the season starting to turn in a downward direction, The Canucks are looking for answers that could change their season around for the better.
Although playing a lot better since the start of the 2024-2025 season, there seems to be a never ending frustration surrounding the play and efforts of superstar forward Elias Pettersson.
It is a known fact that J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson do not get along, and Miller's recent leave of absence from the team has only intensified the rumors of conflict within the Canucks dressing room.
With Canucks looking to make a deal, on the most recent episode of Sportsnet's 32 Thoughts podcast, hosted by Elliotte Friedman and Kyle Bukauskas, the former has a blockbuster trade proposal that is leaving many fans shaking their heads.
Obviously he knew this would cause major controversy, but Friedman still went ahead and has suggested sending over Elias Pettersson to the Buffalo Sabres for Dylan Cozens and defenseman Bowen Byram.
This idea from Friedman was ignited by the recent report that the Sabres have been getting many calls inquiring about the availability of forward Dylan Cozens.
With the Canucks already extremely interested in Bowen Bryman for an upgrade on their defense, it is for this reason that he thinks it could be a good fit for both teams.
In reality, there is a very low likelihood that this trade would ever come to fruition, but it is interesting proposal to say the least.
