A tightly disputed series with the Oilers has taken us to this point. The Canucks will be playing, once again, without their starting netminder Thatcher Demko. The news also broke earlier that they'd be without their star forward Brock Boeser. The Canucks have often been recognized for their resiliency, and this will be another opportunity for them to prove it.
Ahead of their game seven meeting with the Oilers, the NHL stated the Canucks defenceman Tyler Myers and the team's game seven experience. As noted by the NHL's Public Relations account, Myers is the only Vancouver skater to ever score a goal in a game seven:
Whether it's viewed as positive or negative, with their best goalscorer on the sidelines, the Canucks are going to need all the help they can get. Will Myers be the game-breaker in this game seven? He's shown during these playoffs why he was signed in the first place, hopefully he'll be the one of the guys who'll take their game to the next step and help the Canucks to their eight playoffs win.
The Canucks veteran defenseman hasn't been an offensive force during his 11 playoffs appearance, but he's sure been a strong presence, defensively speaking. As he heads towards free agency on July 1st, he's making a solid case regarding his value and place in a competitive playoff team.
