The National Hockey League made a statement on Sunday afternoon which featured Vancouver Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs.

With the 2024-25 season beginning in just a matter of days, hockey fans have been pondering who they'll be taking in their fantasy pools this year. The NHL, as well as other media outlets, have compiled lists and rankings for fans for their respective fantasy hockey pools and in a recent post, mentioned Vancouver Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs.

On Sunday through a post on X, the National Hockey League's fantasy account shared the top-ten rookies to take in your pool this season and among those on their list was Arturs Silovs.

The other nine on their list are - Macklin Celebrini (San Jose), Logan Stankoven (Dallas), Matvei Michkov (Philadelphia), Will Smith (San Jose), Cutter Gauthier (Anaheim), Lane Hutson (Montreal), Mavrik Bourque (Dallas), Rutger McGroarty (Pittsburgh) and Yaroslav Askarov (San Jose).

Arturs Silovs is named on the NHL's list for a number of reasons and one of those has to be his performance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for Vancouver amid their injury issues between the pipes. Another reason is he's bound to get plenty of starts, at least at the start of the season with Thatcher Demko still working his way back from back-to-back knee injuries.

With the aforementioned Thatcher Demko on the sidelines, Silovs and recently signed Kevin Lankinen will be the Canucks' goaltending tandem. The 29-year-old Lankinen has over 100 games of experience in the National Hockey League which is big for the Canucks, given that Silovs and Jiri Patera have a combined 27 games under their belt.

The Riga, Latvia native is poised to have a strong year for the Canucks and will likely be the team's starting goaltender when they open the 2024-25 season next Wednesday (October 9th) against the Calgary Flames at Rogers Arena.
