The NHL Network has made a statement on Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes heading into the 2024-25 season.

On Sunday evening, with days to go until the start of the 2024-25 season here in North America, the NHL Network finished off their top-50 players in the National Hockey League right now by sharing their top-ten.

Last month, the NHL Network included Vancouver Canucks forwards Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller on their list at 28th and 30th, respectively, but many were wondering where captain Quinn Hughes would land and now we know.

In a post on social media on Sunday, the NHL Network shared that Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes comes in at 10th on their list.

Hughes is the second-highest ranked defenceman on the NHL Network's list, following Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche, who landed in the fourth spot. He's also the fourth-highest ranked player on a Canadian team after Connor McDavid (1st), Auston Matthews (3rd) and Leon Draisaitl (5th).

It's going to be a big year no doubt for Quinn Hughes, especially coming off a 92-point campaign in 2023-24 which earned him his first career Norris Trophy as the National Hockey League's best defenceman.

We all know what Quinn Hughes is capable of at this point. He's a leader on and off the ice, he's a game changer and this Canucks team relies on him heavily to produce and that'll be no different heading into the 2024-25 season.

Many are wondering if Quinn Hughes has another level to his game that can reach and could that mean being only the seventh defenceman in National Hockey League history to register 100 or more points in a single season. It's certainly possible, but will be tough, there's no doubt about that.

Hughes and the Canucks will open up the 2024-25 season in just two days, October 9th, as they host the Calgary Flames at Rogers Arena. Fans across Canada can watch on Sportsnet starting at 7 pm PT/10 pm ET.
