Patrik Allvin announces $3.6M extension for Teddy Blueger: A real steal
Patrik Allvin is slowly working through the Canucks' pending free agents, and an announcement was just made in regards to Teddy Blueger.
It was announced that the Canucks had inked the centerman Teddy Blueger, one of the team's pending free agents, to a $3.6M deal over the next two seasons. Highlighting Patrik Allvin's great work:
#Canucks get Teddy Blueger to take a slight pay cut to stay, signing a two-year deal at $1.8 million per season.
He earned $1.9 million last year.
Another quality piece locked up.
Allvin secured a depth piece in Bluege He had joined the Canucks via free agency a little under a year ago on a one-year show-me deal worth $1.9M. Some believe Blueger had done enough to deserve a pay raise, but it appears that he wanted to stay with the Canucks more than he wanted the extra dollar on his contract.
The Latvian forward participated in 68 games this season; he scored six goals and collected 28 points. Blueger was an essential part of the Canucks penalty kill and played a role of importance in the team's defensive zone success. Tocchet will gladly have him in his arsenal for an extra two years.
