The Vancouver Canucks return home to Rogers Arena tonight against the Los Angeles Kings and the team has announced some roster moves.

After a tough five-game road trip which saw them go 1-2-2, the Vancouver Canucks are back at Rogers Arena tonight to kick off a quick three-game homestand by facing a Los Angeles Kings team they're chasing for third spot in the Pacific Division.

Yesterday, as the team returned to British Columbia, Patrik Allvin announced that they assigned a trio of players - Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Max Sasson and Guillaume Brisebois to the American Hockey League.

With Abbotsford hosting the Ontario Reign last night, many were wondering if it was an opportunity for those three to get some ice time, however that wasn't the case and ultimately, as expected, this was just a move for salary cap reasons.

Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Max Sasson and Guillaume Brisebois called back up to Vancouver

With less than ten hours until puck drop, the Vancouver Canucks took to social media to announced that Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Max Sasson and Guillaume Brisebois are being called back up to the National Hockey League.

"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Guillaume Brisebois, F Jonathan Lekkerimaki and F Max Sasson have been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL)." the Canucks said.

Patrik Allvin and the Canucks have made these moves quite often this season, as it'll help them accrue some much needed cap space to go out on to the trade market and potentially bring in a big name player ahead of the 12 pm PT deadline on Friday, March 7th.

While the Canucks would like to be in the playoff race by the time the trade deadline rolls around and be in the mix to add a big name player, it's still too early to tell which direction they'll take in the coming weeks.

Given how inconsistent the team has been in recent weeks, there's a chance that Vancouver could fall well out of the playoff race and end up being sellers at the deadline, but they could also go on a hot streak and jump back into a top-three spot in the division. That's how up and down this season has been.

Puck drop for tonight's game against the Los Angeles Kings is set for 7 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
