With just hours to go until the fifth game of their road trip, the Vancouver Canucks have made an emergency call-up from the American Hockey League.

The Vancouver Canucks are coming off a big win over the New York Islanders, which boosted their playoff odds and will look to continue that momentum into Friday night's game in Columbus.
As the team prepares for the fifth game of their six-game road trip, the team is calling up a forward from the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks.

Vancouver Canucks announce emergency call-up from the AHL

In a post on social media on Friday morning, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they've called up forward Max Sasson under emergency conditions.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Max Sasson has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL) under emergency conditions." the Canucks said on X.
A reason for Max Sasson being called up to the NHL on Friday hasn't been announced, but it could signal that someone on the roster is banged up and potentially may even be a game-time decision tonight, however we'll have to wait and see.
Rick Tocchet is expected to speak with reporters later today and we should find out more information then about tonight's lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets and whether or not Max Sasson will draw in for what would be his 25th game in the National Hockey League.
Sasson, 24, has appeared in 24 games so far this season for the Vancouver Canucks where he's registered six points (two goals, four assists), zero penalty minutes and is a plus-three.
The Birmingham, Michigan native is in his second full season with the Vancouver Canucks organization after signing as an undrafted free agent out of the NCAA in March 2023.
After a 42-point campaign in his rookie year in the AHL last season, Sasson has followed that up with 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists) in 37 games with Abbotsford.
Puck drop for tonight's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets is set for 4 pm PT and can be viewed on Sportsnet Pacific.
