With the Vancouver Canucks' 2024-25 season now in the books, several players are being reassigned to prepare for postseason action elsewhere.

On Thursday, Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin announced that seven players have been assigned to the team's AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, as they gear up for a playoff run.

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the following players have been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL):

- D Kirill Kudryavtsev
- D Victor Mancini
- F Aatu Räty
- F Linus Karlsson
- F Max Sasson
- F Ty Mueller
- G Nikita Tolopilo
Tyler Kuehl from the Canucks Army writes that among the group heading to Abbotsford, Aatu Räty stands out as the most experienced at the NHL level this season. The Finnish centre played in 33 games for Vancouver, posting a career-best seven goals and 11 points. Despite appearing in only 41 games with Abbotsford, Räty ranks second on the team in scoring with 39 points, showcasing his offensive impact at both levels.
"Victor Mancini also saw a good chunk of time on the Vancouver blue line. The rookie defenceman was acquired by the Canucks in the deal that saw the team acquire Filip Chytil and a first-round pick for J.T. Miller, Erik Brannstrom and Jackson Dorrington. Mancini played 16 games with Vancouver, 31 overall this season. The Hancock, Michigan native scored two goals and eight points." -Kuehl

Kuehl also writes that Linus Karlsson also enjoyed the most NHL action of his young career this season, suiting up for 23 games with Vancouver. He recorded three goals and six points, including a tally in Monday's game against the San Jose Sharks. At the AHL level, the Swedish winger has been a consistent offensive presence, putting up 34 points in just 30 games with Abbotsford.
"Ty Mueller is another scoring threat the Abby Canucks would love to get back. In 62 games in the AHL this season, the centre has posted 12 goals and 38 points, tied for fourth best on the team. The 22-year-old played in two games with Vancouver over the past week, making his NHL debut last Saturday against the Minnesota Wild." -Kuehl

The Abbotsford Canucks are in a tight battle for the top spot in the AHL's Pacific Division. With just two games left in their regular season, they trail the first-place Colorado Eagles by four points.
For Abbotsford to clinch the division title and earn a bye to the division semifinals of the Calder Cup Playoffs, they'll need to win both of their remaining games and hope the Eagles drop their final two. Otherwise, the Canucks will be headed for a best-of-three first-round series.
