Quinn Hughes and the Vancouver Canucks participated in their annual charity golf tournament on Monday morning and some of the players spoke with the media about the upcoming season.
While speaking with reporters, Quinn Hughes shared that Nashville Predators captain Roman Josi met up with him in Michigan to skate over the summer and was able to talk about hockey with the four-time All Star and 2020 Norris Trophy winner.
Hughes had some high praise for the Swiss defenceman, calling him one of the best players of this current generation.
Hughes and Josi have arguably been among the top-five defenceman in the National Hockey League in recent years and have pushed each other to be better, especially last season when both were finalists for the Norris Trophy, which the Canucks captain took home for the first time in his career.
Josi had a strong season offensively in 2023-24, tying a career-high in goals with 23 and finished third in points among defenceman in the entire National Hockey League with 85, only behind Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche, who had 90 points and Quinn Hughes, who led the way with 92.
It's going to be exciting to watch Quinn Hughes and Roman Josi again this season to see if they'll both be able to reach the 80+ point mark once again. The two captains will go head-to-head three times in 2024-25 - November 17th in Vancouver; January 3rd in Vancouver and January 29th in Nashville.
